Memorial Day Weekend -- May 26, 27, 28 2012 !!!
I know time is a little short, and I've done a poor job of advertising this party so far, but we just had way too much fun last year to not do this again! So, come on over and let's party!
The official party dates are May 26, 27, 28, but you can come before and/or after and stay longer! But please discuss your dates with me! We will spend much of this time hanging out and partying at the house, playing lots of poker, basically doing whatever we feel like at the moment. Last year had plenty of spontaneous "challenges" which were hilarious and fun. We will probably go out to dinner once or twice during the official party days as well, and/or "go out on the town". The night of Saturday the 26th might be a larger party at the house where I invite a lot of my local friends. On Monday the 28th (or potentially Sunday if needed), we will have the championship poker tourney for some prize and bragging rights, so make sure you are there for that! Don't let me win it two years in a row!
I can "comfortably" host about 5 people on couches and guest bed. I otherwise have floor space, some carpeted, if you want to crash on the floor with a sleeping bag. Otherwise, there are some hotels nearby and I may be able to find friends who will host you as well. Please let me know what your needs/preferences are, and the sooner, the better! I will try to give priority to those who have had to travel the farthest, or are traveling on very tight funds.
For people flying into Denver (Denver International Airport -- airport code DEN), my house is NOT easily accessible by public transportation. The bus would be complicated and longs, and taxi is pricey. I am MORE THAN HAPPY to pick you up at the airport and drop you off, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE discuss your plans and needs with me before buying a ticket! Please DO NOT expect me to drive to the airport at 6am, or pick you up at 10pm on Saturday night or anything along those lines. Even if you think your plans will not be a problem, please just get a confirmation from me in advance! For example, we may go to the mountains one day and it would be great to be able to do that instead of making trips to the airport that could have been scheduled better. The ideal solution is if you can coordinate your flights with other people so we can pick up multiple people in one trip! Thanks!
We are close to the mountains, so we can go up there and hike, drive around, visit Boulder and other towns, etc. We could go to Black Hawk (our local gambling town) if visiting a casino sounds fun to you.
I've got video games, and I'm sure we will watch another weird and hilarious movie like last time (I'll be surprised if anyone has seen it -- it will be obscure!). We'll probably grill up food some night(s) as well.
I have about 6 bicycles and am right next to a dedicated bike path that goes all the way into downtown Denver (about 7 miles). On Wednesday nights are our local "Cruiser Rides" which are a blast. Over a thousand people on bikes riding around downtown at night, partying and having a great time. It's hilarious and really a sight to see. The ride is not fast, and each ride has a fun theme. If this sounds fun to you, make sure you are here on Wednesday evening! You don't have to join in on the cruiser ride if you are here on a Wednesday, but it is a fun option to consider!
Not everyone that attends needs to be an avid Triplejack player, admin, helper, or even power player, it is more important that we have cool, friendly, respectful and fun-loving people
Very few things will be set in stone, so feel free to suggest something you would like to do. We are open to creative and fun ideas!Finally, two rules: Don't be a jerk, and there's no smoking inside my house.

Post-party plan update:
So, a plan is emerging for the week after the party weekend. I want to take barbie and whoever else wants to come to the mountains for about a day, and to the sand dunes national park for about a day! We will either do a day trip to the mountains to do some hiking/driving/whatever, and then a one-night stay near the sand dunes, OR we will combine those and be gone for 2 nights. Chances are, we will mostly be out of Denver on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (that's May 29-31).
So, if you are not able to join us for that, but are coming to the party, please make sure your travel plans will not interfere! If you are flying out on Monday or Tuesday, it would be best (if you need a ride/accommodations from me) if your flight out is late on Monday or early on Tuesday so we still have the majority of Tuesday for seeing sights and doing things!
