7 2 is NOT THE WORST HAND IN POKER (kind of)

Postby uberyank » Sun Feb 19, 2006 11:10 pm

hey guys

the statistical odds of winning with an offsuit 2 3 (pre-flop) are

number of opponents chance %
1 29.24
2 21.61
3 15.39
4 12.73
5 10.07
6 8.87
7 7.67
8 7.01
9 6.35

the stats for a off suit 7 2 winning pre flop are

number of opponents chance %
1 32.71
2 22.44
3 15.83
4 12.98
5 10.12
6 8.70
7 7.28
8 6.57
9 5.86

With bold being the better chance out of the 2 hands.

So the number of opponents directly affects which poker hand has the better odds of winning.

Problem solved. What you guys think?

Well, you see, 7-2 has the nicknames "WORST HAND IN POKER" and "BEER HAND".

Meanwhile, 2-3 is "AIR JORDAN". Meaning Micheal Jordan. Who rocks beyond comprehension.

Therefore, in my infallible logic, I conclude that 7-2 is indeed, the worst of the two.

Please guys i'm urging you to stop this petty bickering. This started off as an intelligent post however it then turned into a forum playground where insults start.

This is supposed to be a fun site so please keep it that way (including the forums)

Lighten up and have fun.

It's true, though. When people say that 7/2 is the worst hand, it's assuming the table is full. Heads-up, or short-handed, 3/2 is actually a worse hand.

And yes, thanks for the education on the subject yank, but your name calling wasn't, ahem, called for. :)

that nickname of worst hand in poker was made by people who analyzed the potential of cards not the actual stats hence why 7 2 is the "worst hand in poker"

23 has the potential of a straight therefore it has some form of value. 72 can only hit other 7's or 2's

suffice to say i wouldnt want either hand ;)

If somebody says 5 its cannot be50%. Meaning only 60% I can agree on. So it's not 50%.
