Omaha Rules

Some people may find Omaha to be a simpler form of Texas Hold 'Em, while others find it to be more of a challenge. Winning hands in Omaha Hold 'Em tend to be better than those in Texas, so your strategy and tactics should be adjusted accordingly. Omaha is based on Texas Hold 'Em, but with these main differences.

  • Players are dealt four hole cards.
  • Players MUST use TWO of their hole cards, no more and no less, and three community cards to make the best possible poker hand.

For example, you cannot make a flush with four hearts on the board and only one heart in your hand. Another thing to be mindful of is while K K K Q looks like a strong starting hand, it is actually fairly weak since having the third K in your hand cuts down on the probability of you hitting another K for the trips or Full House on the flop, turn or river.
